Luxury vinyl has amazingly realistic, nature-inspired images of wood, stone, and tile, all taken with high-definition photography. The floors have depth and dimension.

There are also textured looks, including brushed, hand scraped, and distressed. Another is embossed-in-register (EIR), which refers to little indentations made to match the image's exact image.

The material is cut into strips and mounted on boards for added realism. These planks are used to mimic hardwood floorboards, also called LVP flooring. It is also cut into square, tile-sized pieces.

Durability

This is layered, making it five times thicker than the original product. A transparent wear layer between the design layer and the top protective coating.

This protects the floor from scratches, scuffs, and dents, making it impossible to "walk off" the image.

1. Waterproof: Impenetrable to liquid, whether submerged or spilled on.

2. Easy care. Regular sweeping and periodic mopping is all it takes to keep them looking great. Avoid waxy, shine-promoting cleaners; they can damage the finish and dull the plank or LVT.
